If you’re looking for lucid dreaming advice, you’ve come to the right place. I’m full of lucid dreaming advice because I’ve had years of experience at lucid dreaming and have done all sorts of research to help people just like you. I love helping people learn to become better lucid dreamers with solid lucid dreaming advice.

When you’re looking for lucid dreaming advice, don’t just come to a single person, though. I know a lot, but I definitely don’t know it all. There are tons of great forums and such online where you can get lucid dreaming advice from all sorts of people. Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt, since some of this advice might be from people who are new to lucid dreaming themselves.

My Best Lucid Dreaming Advice

This lucid dreaming advice doesn’t relate to specific techniques for lucid dreaming, but rather to lucid dreaming in general. If I could give every new lucid dreamer lucid dreaming advice, this is what it would be:

  • Go easy on yourself. It’s easy to see lucid dreaming as a competitive sport, but it totally isn’t. It’s a little like yoga. Our yoga instructor in my favorite class is always quick to remind us to focus on ourselves and where we are on any given day – not to try to stretch further or squat deeper than another person in the room. Lucid dreaming is about being attuned to yourself and understanding how your unique mind works. As you become more attuned to yourself and your mind, you’ll get better at having and controlling lucid dreams. For some people, this takes days, and for others, it takes months. It took me quite a while to have a lucid dream at all, and much longer to have them regularly. With practice and patience, you’ll become better, though.
  • Try different techniques. As you can see from my blog, there are TONS of different lucid dreaming techniques. Some of my best lucid dreaming advice is to give these techniques a try. Some of them will be more natural to you than others, but you never know what will work until you try. Read about different techniques for induction and dream control here, and feel free to give different options a shot. Although I’ve got a few favorite control and induction techniques now, some days my favorites just don’t work. It’s a great idea to try to learn different techniques so you have some on standby when your old favorites stop working for whatever reason.
  • Have fun with it! This is a piece of lucid dreaming advice you won’t often hear. Lots of lucid dreaming writers are super serious about this subject. It can be used for serious reasons. I’ve definitely used lucid dreaming to solve problems and come to terms with serious issues in my own life. On the other hand, at first, especially, you should try to make lucid dreaming fun. Fly in your dreams, or become invincible. You can also travel to faraway places for vacations, or even time travel in your dreams. All of this can be enlightening and relaxing, but ultimately, it’s fun!

This lucid dreaming advice certainly isn’t comprehensive. There are tons of people out there who are better versed in lucid dreaming methodologies and techniques than I am. However, I hope you’ll take this basic lucid dreaming advice to heart and use it to create a better lucid dreaming experience for yourself on many levels. It’s such an interesting journey to take. Just let it take its own course, to some extent, and have a good time as you’re learning.
